The Missoula Jr. Bruins had a heap of trouble contending with the Yellowstone Quake this weekend.
After dropping a 7-2 decision on Friday, Missoula struggled just as much on Saturday night in a 4-0 setback at Glacier Ice Rink. The Jr. Bruins fell to 4-6 while the Quake improved to 9-2.
Cole Stewart drew first blood for the visitors. He gave Yellowstone a lead with just over 3 minutes left in the first period, scoring with an assist from Ian Doner.
Doner came up big in the second period. He scored midway through the frame with an assist from Stewart, then scored a power-play goal about 4 minutes later, with helpers from Timo Pelto and Riley Buller.
The Quake added another insurance goal midway through the third period. Pelto did the honors with an assist from Jack Rasmussen.
Billy Yoder took the loss in net for Missoula, despite making 41 saves. Yellowstone held a decided 45-28 edge in shots.
Missoula will play at Great Falls on Friday and Saturday.
