A healthy turnout of 700 fans wasn't enough to get the Missoula Jr. Bruins over the hump Friday against one of the best teams in the NA3 Hockey League's Frontier Division.

The Yellowstone Quake scored three goals in the first and second periods en route to a 7-2 win at Glacier Ice Rink. Missoula fell to 4-5 while the Quake improved to 8-2.

The Jr. Bruins jumped to a lead at 5:18 in the first period on a goal by Ryley Cook. Rhys Cottle assisted on the play.

Yellowstone came roaring back with three goals in the next five minutes. Ian Doner, Riley Buller and Kobe Kitagawa all lit the lamp against Jr. Bruins staring goalie Duncan Wiest.

Missoula cut its deficit to 3-2 on a goal by Hunter Stewart early in the second period. Yellowstone again answered with three goals before the end of the period, two of which were scored by Cole Stewart.

The Quake finished with a 50-33 edge in shots. Missoula will try to exact a little revenge when the teams meet again Saturday night at 7:30 in Missoula.
