BOZEMAN — Tyler Hall made seven 3-pointers and scored 28 points as Montana State defeated Northern Colorado 76-64 in a Big Sky Conference matchup Thursday Worthington Arena.
The Bobcats improved to 10-6 overall and to 3-0 in the Big Sky, marking the first time they won their first three conference games since the 2013-14 season. UNC (11-5, 2-1) fell from the ranks of the unbeaten.
Harald Frey added 13 points, and Keljin Blevins had 11 points and six rebounds for Montana State.
The Bobcats will host North Dakota on Saturday.
WEBER ST. 95, N. ARIZONA 55: Jerrick Harding scored 17 points and led six players into double-figure scoring as Weber State pummeled visiting Northern Arizona. Ricky Nelson had 13 points, dished four assists and collected two steals for Weber State (8-6, 1-1). Chris Bowling scored 18 points to lead Northern Arizona (3-13, 0-3).
E. WASHINGTON 81, PORTLAND ST. 74: Bogdan Bliznyuk had 28 points and 12 rebounds and Eastern Washington held off visiting Portland State's late charge. Jesse Hunt added 11 points and Ty Gibson had 10 for Eastern Washington (7-9, 2-1), which has won four of its last five games since snapping a five-game losing skid. Deontae North scored 21 points and Brandon Hollins chipped in 13 to lead the Vikings (10-5, 0-2).
IDAHO ST. 93, S. UTAH 78: Brandon Boyd scored 24 points and Jared Stutzman drilled 5 of 9 from long range for 23 as Idaho State pulled away from visiting Southern Utah in the second half. Balint Mocsan added 15 points and Geno Luzcando had 13 with eight rebounds, six assists and four steals for Idaho State (7-6, 2-0). Dwayne Morgan had 26 points and 10 rebounds for Southern Utah (6-8, 0-3).
IDAHO 69, SACRAMENTO ST. 68: Victor Sanders scored 21 points, Idaho closed on a 15-0 run and survived a scoreless drought over the last two minutes to rally past visiting Sacramento State. Sacramento State had two chances in the last seven seconds, with a Justin Strings off-balance putback that nearly fell in at the buzzer. Brayon Blake added 16 points, 11 rebounds for Idaho (10-5, 2-1 Big Sky) and Jordan Scott scored 10.
