AIDS ride needs help

  • 0

Medical workers are needed to accompany 1,999 cyclists on a seven-day ride to Billings to raise money for AIDS research.

Some of the nurses and doctors who were scheduled for the ride failed to show up at Saturday's crew registration, according to Sarah Lowes of Pallotta TeamWorks, which is putting on the AIDS Vaccine Rides. The cyclists set out Monday from Missoula to Billings.

Lowes appealed for help from doctors, nurses or paramedics who could accompany the riders for the entire ride or for as little as one day.

Pallotta will waive the registration fee, and provide transportation, food, medical supplies and a tent for medical personnel who sign up. Volunteers need only bring a sleeping bag.

If you can help, call 1-800-564-7433 and ask for road dispatch, or call Lowes' cell phone at (323) 440-5987.
