HELENA - Cody Person hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to lift the Bitterroot Bucs to a 4-3 win over Helena and a split of their Class A Legion doubleheader Saturday.
Bitterroot pitcher Evan Ringel had nine strikeouts and earned the complete game win. Ringel is 4-0 on the year.
Chris Conner went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs to lead Helena past the Bucs 7-6 in the opening game.
B.J. Underkofler hit three singles, scored two runs and had an RBI in the win.
Chance Edman, Person and Jason Perez each had two hits for the Bucs. Aaron Harshbarger had a triple and two RBIs in the loss.

Mavs, Red Sox split
The Missoula Mavericks Class A team split a non-conference doubleheader with the Bitterroot Red Sox Saturday afternoon at Lindborg-Cregg Field.
Missoula won the first game 9-5 then dropped the second game 13-4 to move its record to 4-7 on the year.
Mike Cooley went the distance in the opener to pick up his first victory of the year. Cooley walked one and struck out five over seven innings.
Aaron Neilson went 3-for-3 and Taran Kahler had two hits and two RBIs to lead the Mavs.
Bitterroot bounced back in the second game, scoring at least once in every inning. Joe Franklin had two hits and three runs batted in for the Red Sox. Daren Olson earned the win. Missoula had eight miscues in the field.
