Friday was a good day to be a Bronc pitcher.
Three Hamilton Broncs combined to no-hit Ronan. At approximately the same time, Frenchtown Bronc sophomore Brianne Tweedy was working on a no-hitter of her own.
Tweedy, who combined on a no-hitter earlier this season with Jessie Williams and has hurled three one-hitters this season, struck out six in a five-inning 10-0 win over Central A Corvallis.
Hamilton junior Kristen Hansen, who was making her first varsity start, kept Ronan hitless for six inning in the Broncs' 4-1 win. Jenna McCartney and Melissa Weston pitched the seventh inning and kept the no-hitter in tact.
Both Hamilton and Frenchtown swept their respective foes.
€ Hamilton takes two
At Hamilton, the Broncs won both games by 4-1 scores. Sophomore Melissa Weston hurled a three-hitter in the opener and Hansen and company followed with the no-hitter.
In the opener, Weston struck out eight and allowed two singles. Nikki Garrod and Karly Manning drove in runs in Hamilton's four-run first inning.
In the second game, Hansen struck out three. She also went 2-for-3 at the plate with double and an RBI.
Hamilton finished the regular season 8-4 in league and 11-11 overall. Ronan finished its season 0-12, 4-16. The Maidens finished last in the Central A and won't advance to next weekend's state Class A tournament in Billings.

€ Frenchtown sweeps
At Frenchtown, the Class B-C Broncs ran their winning streak to 12 games with two shutout victories over the Central A Blue Devils. Frenchtown followed its 10-0 win in the opener, with a 9-0 victory.
In the opener, Tweedy (10-0) struck out six. Catcher Kayla Brosious went 3-for-3 and drove in two runs. Joy Gollofon went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Christy Lefler and Julie Savik also had two hits and an RBI.
In the second game, Amanda Babon went 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Gollofon had an RBI double. The Broncs scored five runs in the third inning. Jessie Williams (8-2) surrendered three hits and struck out six.
Frenchtown, 11-0 against Class B-C teams and 20-2 overall, has outscored its opponents 47-1 in its last five games.
Corvallis (4-6, 8-12) plays a doubleheader Saturday at Butte Central.

€ Libby sweeps Browning
At Libby, the Libby Loggers pounded out 22 hits and scored 21 runs in a Western A sweep of Browning. The Loggers tallied 14 hits, including three from Emma Pflieger, in a 10-0 win in the opener. Crystal Barnes and Jolene Huntsberger each had two hits as Libby won the second game 11-1. Both games ended after five innings because of the 10-run rule.
In the opener, Julie Barnes struck out six and surrendered just two hits. Pfleiger had a double and a triple and drove in a run in Libby's seven-run third inning. Crystal Barnes, Erin Cooper, Stacey Bothman and Kelley Bothman each had two hits in the game.
In the second game, Lacey Thompson struck out seven and scattered five hits. She also went 1-for-2 and drove in a pair of runs. The Loggers scored four runs in the first inning.
Libby is 6-3 in league and 12-7 overall. Browning dropped to 2-7 in league. The Loggers host a tournament on Saturday beginning at noon. All six Western A squads will be in action.

€ Florence wins a pair
At Thompson Falls, Florence pitcher Tawnya Vernon picked up two wins and a save in sweeping a pair of Class B-C games from Thompson Falls. Florence won the first gae 11-1 and the second 11-8.
Vernon left with an 11-3 lead in the second game and had to return to save the game when the Bluehawks had five straight hits and scored five runs in the seventh. The Bluehawks committed seven errors in the second game. Rachel Sullivan drove in four runs.
In the first game, Vernon took a no-hitter into the seventh, before allowing two hits. She struck out 11 to hike her record to 10-7. Allena Johns went 4-for-5 with a two run homer in the first to lead the Falcons.
Florence finished the regular season 8-5 against Class B-C teams and 11-9 overall. Thompson Falls (5-10, 8-12) plays a doubleheader at Eureka on Saturday

At Butte, Lindsay Thatcher went 3-for-4 and hit a three-run home run in the second inning to lead defending Class A champion Butte Central to a Central A win over Stevensville.
Butte Central (10-0, 20-0) has won 46 straight games. Alicia Wheeler pitched a three-hitter to move her record to 18-0.
Kristin Harper had two of Stevensville's three hits, including a solo home run in the fourth. The Yellowjackets finished the regular season 6-6, 11-11.
