The Missoula Broadcasting Company LLC has acquired the Missoula radio stations the Trail 103.3, U 104.5, Jack 105.9 and ESPN 102.9 FM from Spanish Peaks Broadcasting Inc. Missoula Broadcasting will manage the group. Becky Smith, general manager of the Missoula station group, will continue in her current position and hold ownership in Missoula Broadcasting.
Jeri Delys has been hired as executive director of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Missoula. CASA of Missoula is a nonprofit organization serving abused and neglected children in Missoula and Mineral County. CASA staff train advocates to work on behalf of vulnerable children in the court system. Delys has worked in nonprofit development, sales, marketing, event planning and public relations. Prior to joining CASA, Delys was the marketing and events coordinator for the Missoula County Fairgrounds. David Brown, EMT-P, CLPA, joined Northwest MedStar as the Missoula base chief for the regional base at Missoula International Airport. Brown comes to Northwest MedStar from Reach Air Medical Services in Redding, California, where he served as program manager. Before that he was a paramedic for American Medical Response and a firefighter/paramedic in Williams, Oregon.
McKenna Klein has joined the Missoula office of Paradigm v2 Architects PC, as an intern architect. She graduated from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in 2014 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in architecture and interior design. McKenna has three years' experience in the architecture and furniture industry. She also has experience in lighting design, and building construction. She attended the AIA Chicago Convention this past summer and is on her way to becoming a LEED Green Associate.
The NEA Foundation announced that Anna Baldwin, who teaches English Language Arts and History at Arlee High School in Arlee, will receive the Horace Mann Award for Teaching Excellence, $10,000, and recognition as one of the nation’s top educators at the NEA Foundation’s Salute to Excellence in Education Awards Gala to be held on Feb. 13, 2015, in Washington, D.C.
The Missoula Organization of Realtors recognized the following at its annual meeting. Brint Wahlberg, an agent at Windermere Real Estate who served as 2014 MOR president, was the 2015 Realtor of the Year. Leslie Wetherbee, an agent at Windermere Real Estate, was 2015 Outstanding Newcomer of the Year. Carol Kraft, MOR’s office manager and member services coordinator for over 30 years, received the Lifetime Achievement Award. C.E. Abe Abramson and Ken Allen were Emeritus Recipients, an award recognized by the National Association of Realtors for 40 consecutive years of membership. The 2015 Realtor' Choice Awards, an award recognizing excellent service by peers were given to Realtor: Jennifer Taylor, Prudential Montana Real Estate; lender: Lynn Stenerson, First Interstate Bank; title person: Duskie Gramm, First American Title; product or service: Will Duncan, Advantage Inspection Service.
