Just like Manheim Steamroller Christmas or the Transiberian Orchestra, Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre Artistic Director Brach Thomson will play rock, fusion, jazz, funk, blues and more to familiar Christmas favorites during an evening of holiday entertainment on Saturday, Dec. 6 at the performing arts center.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m.
Watch and enjoy as Thomson plays live on five keyboards, synthesizers and on piano. Special guests this year will include Classic Touch, Vocal Vertigo, BPCT Choir and Five and Holding. The Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre Choirs will also be performing along with a surprise special guest or two.
All music is arranged by Thomson and made to have the feel of a larger orchestra and rock/Jazz combos.
Hot cocoa and peppermint schnapps or coffee and brandy will available to knock off the chill from the Polar Express Holiday Parade, which starts at 6 p.m. with Santa and the Bigfork Elves coming down Grand and Electric avenues in Bigfork to celebrate the holiday season.
Tickets are $8 per person; all the proceeds will go to the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre. For ticket information, call 837-4886.
After you’re done you can head down to the Bigfork Station to get your photo taken with Santa from 3-6 p.m. Dec. 13, and Dec. 20 from 3-6 p.m.
The Holiday Cookie and Dessert Contest and Tasting will also be taking place on Saturday at Bigfork Center for Performing Arts from noon to 3 p.m.
If you have the best holiday cookie or dessert recipe around, put your skills to the test and bring three dozen of your best cookies or desserts to be judged and displayed at 11 a.m. Sampling opens to the public at noon. Amateurs only, please no professionals or restaurants.
Entries must be submitted by 10:45 a.m. with judging from 11 a.m. to noon and sampling to the public from noon to 3 p.m. There is no charge for this event, but please plan to bring a donation item for the Bigfork Food Pantry.
