1 Chocolate Tasting and Silent Auction, 4-9 p.m., Victor Heritage Museum, corner of Main Street and Blake. The homemade chocolates are from the members of the community. The silent auction items are donated by people and businesses throughout the Bitterroot Valley. 5 CASA Light of Hope Gala Tastes of the Season, 6 p.m., St. Francis Events Center, 411 S. Fifth St., Hamilton. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at Chapter One Bookstore in Hamilton or call 961-4535. Enjoy food by local caterers and restaurants, music, silent and live auctions, no host bar and holiday entertainment. All proceeds help local children who are under the protection of the court due to abuse and neglect.

5-6 River Street Dance Theater presents “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” 7 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday, Victor School’s Mary Stuart Rogers Performing Arts Center, 425 Fourth Ave. Tickets are $8 adults, $6 seniors and students and $4 children through age 12, available at the door. The heartwarming Dr. Seuss story of the true meaning of Christmas is told in song and dance with original choreography by Pam Erickson and Natalie Naidl.  Dances are set to the music of Mannheim Steamroller, Bach, and Musico Para Circo with Christmas carols arranged by Dan Crary.  363-1203.

5-6 A Montana Country Christmas, 5-9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, downtown Stevensville. Decorations and lights adorn the historic town, which offers treats, horse and wagon rides, a hayride, Santa's arrival, Parade of Lights and caroling. On Saturday, browse the Holiday Bazaar at the high school gym from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and enjoy more wagon rides. 777-3773, mainstreetstevensville.com.

5-14 "The Farndale Avenue Housing Estates Townswoman's Guild Dramatic Society's Production of A Christmas Carol," 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sundays, Stevensville Playhouse, 319 Main St. The ladies of the dramatic society have gathered to put on their version of that old Christmas classic. Unfortunately, a lot of the cast is missing so the theater's janitor has been asked to step in and the ladies must take multiple parts. 6 First Friday in Hamilton includes live nativity with carolers, 6-8 p.m., 206 W. Main St.

8-9 Corvallis High School Madrigal Dinner, 6:30 p.m., Cornerstone Bible Church, Hamilton. Tickets $25; call 961-3201 to order. Presented by the music department, the evening is a scripted event with processionals and music by the orchestra, jazz band and Chanteur Choir accompanying each item on the menu. The musical theater class will present "May the Farce Be With Thee."
