BBD Film Festival

"Adelaars," features choreography by Jan Sevcik inspired by a Mongolian ritual dance.

Bare Bait Dance, a contemporary modern dance company in Missoula, is sharing dance from around the world at its second annual film festival.

The Kinetoscope Screen Dance Film Festival offers two different programs of short dance films juried from the popular Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema.

The Boulder, Colorado, festival is partnering with BBD for a second year

Screendance allows choreographers a chance to tell stories and make movies that highlight the movement and shape of the human body, offering a unique treat to fans of film and as well as lovers of dance.

From ballet mixed with hip-hop in a Memphis juke joint, to a traditional Mongolian-inspired exploration of birth, death, flight and motherhood, which all takes place in Slovakia, this year’s Kinetoscope will have something for every artistic palate.

Other offerings include films from over 20 different countries including the USA, Canada, Japan, Romania, Finland and Australia with themes of everything from self discovery to factory workers, transformation to romantic love.

The annual BBD ScreenDance film festival, Kinetoscope will be held at the Roxy Theater, 718 S. Higgins Ave., this weekend.
