On Thursday, May 20, VSA Montana presents its sixth annual Cabaret Show, "A Pirate Party," celebrating the VSA Choir's 10th anniversary as a music ensemble for people with disabilities. The show features the choir, the VSA New Visions Dance program and the C.S. Porter Mime Program.
VSA Young Soloist winner Kurt Skrivseth, guitarist, will open the show, performing original guitar compositions and will then join the Jolly Rogers, featuring Janean McBride, Billy Angus and Gordon Maus, backing up the choir and dance performances.
Malcolm Lowe celebrates his 10th year as conductor of the VSA Choir. Heidi Eggert, UM dance professor, teaches the dance program, and Don Kukla instructs the Mime Troupe.
Admission for the performance is a donation of food or toiletries for the Missoula Food Bank. Doors open at 6 p.m. for a reception and silent auction, proceeds benefiting VSA programs, and the performance begins at 7 p.m.
