LUNAFEST, a national film festival that showcases short films by, for and about women, has selected nine films for its Missoula showing. The festival arrives at Missoula’s Wilma Theatre on Wednesday,
March 14. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 or $5 for students, and can be purchased by calling Erin Barstow at 543-6691.
Beyond showcasing international films, LUNAFEST will also incorporate a silent auction to raise money for the YWCA GUTS (Girls Using Their Strengths)! summer program and the Breast Cancer Fund. The silent auction incorporates Labors of Love donated by community members around Missoula.
A Labor of Love can be something you have personally created or a service you are willing to provide for someone else. Past Labors of Love have included: organic apricots, handcrafted soap, farm-fresh eggs, handcrafted earrings, a bike tune-up, a day in the woodshop, dinner prepared by a chef or West African dance classes.
To donate a Labor of Love or exchange ideas about your potential donation, call Jen Certa at YWCA Missoula, 543-6691.
