Crews hoist a portion of the Roxy Theater's new neon sign into place earlier this year. The Roxy will host a 12-hour Kung Fu movie marathon on New Year's Eve.

Not everything happening on New Year's Eve in Missoula is connected with First Night. Here are some other options:

Kung-Fu movie marathon at the Roxy Theater

The Roxy’s annual New Year’s Eve marathon offers 12 hours of kicks, punches and cool hair (we're partial to the shaved head ponytail). Movies start every two hours from noon on Dec. 31 until midnight, and the whole day is free to watch. Grab some popcorn and a beer from the concession stand and settle in for six '60s and '70s kung-fu classics starring Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Dec. 31, noon–12 a.m., 718 S Higgins Ave. Free.

Zeds Dead and Paper Diamond at the Wilma

If going into the new year pumped full of bass is your thing, an all-electronic lineup is set at the Wilma with headliners Zeds Dead. The hip-hop inspired electronic duo are joined by Paper Diamond and Portland producer Kapture.

Dec. 31, doors at 8 p.m., music at 9 p.m. $49.50.

County Line at Sunrise Saloon

Starting at 9:30 on New Year’s Eve, the Sunrise Saloon welcomes Missoula locals County Line to bring in the New Year. The self-described “redneck rock” and outlaw country band plans on playing well into 2018 so you can dance away the first half of New Year’s Day.

Dec. 31, 9:30 p.m., 1101 Strand Ave. No cover.
