WE CARE - Valor House needs sunscreen, gift cards

Valor House, transitional housing for homeless veterans, is in need of sunscreen and Wal-Mart gift cards in any amount. Contributions can be sent or delivered to Valor House, 2820 Great Northern Loop, Missoula, MT 59808. Phone: 829-3928.

• The Joseph Residence, a Poverello program, needs a few items for its families. Many families could use working bicycle locks.

A woman needs someone to come look at her 1989 Pontiac Bonneville and see what repairs need to be done.

A family needs lights for a bicycle and child trailer, a smart antenna or rabbit ears for a converter box, house fans and size 4 to 5 diapers.

Another family needs a day planner to use for school for the fall 2009 and spring 2010 semesters.

A family needs a window air-conditioning unit due to infant's dire health care needs.

Another family's 16- year-old son needs men's jeans size 34x34, loose fit, if possible.

• A family of five wishes to turn their standalone bath tub into a bath tub and shower combination. The family's case manager at Western Montana Mental Health Center is asking for gift card donations from either Home Depot or Lowe's to purchase the materials to install the shower. If you can help, please contact their case manager Sara at 532-9796.

• A wheelchair-bound 17-year-old hospice patient suffering from muscular dystrophy needs a new or used soft tub for pain management. Patient is unable to go to public facility due to condition. Soft tub must not require plumbing or electrical. Also, the family needs a 10- to 12-foot portable, aluminum ramp. Call Hospice of Missoula, 543-4408, if you can help.

• A mentally disabled mother is now being evicted. She has come up on the housing list but will not actually get into a place for 60 to 90 days. She needs approximately $450 to release her property. To help, call Marci at Western Montana Mental Health, 532-9782.
