This Easter season brings another "Easter Alive" Passion play to Christian Life Center in Missoula. The church has been producing a Passion play for 19 years. Thousands have attended in past years.
In addition to portraying the events of the Passion week, the church has traditionally woven another storyline into the production. New elements are included with the traditional Easter story each year.
This year's story revolves around James, the brother of Jesus. James was a devout man and loved his brother, Jesus, but did not make a profession of being a follower of Christ until the resurrection, a church press release explains.
The story of Jesus' life, death and resurrection is the foundation of the Christian faith, notes Nancy Ward, director of the play. There is a lot of power and emotion in this story, and the drama is presented in the hopes that it will be an inspiration to those attending, said Ward said.
"Easter Alive: Jesus Our Brother" is a churchwide effort and includes a cast of more than 100 people, live music, dance and special effects.
