Our Savior Lutheran Church of Stevensville will host a celebration dinner on Sunday to honor the 40th anniversary of the ordination of the Rev. Ray Larson, a former pastor of the congregation. The dinner will be served at noon in the church fellowship hall following worship at 9 a.m. and Bible study at 10:15 a.m.
The Rev. Larson served the Our Savior congregation from 2001 to 2008. Although retired, he continues to serve the Montana District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in several capacities, including traveling to congregations awaiting new pastors. In 2014 he preached about half the Sundays of the year. He also has retained the position of circuit visitor, in which he visits the eight congregations from Salmon, Idaho, to Thompson Falls.
