Harvest picnic, fall schedules at St. Francis
St. Francis Xavier Parish, 420 W. Pine St., will host “The Harvest is Ready” picnic Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event includes food, a pie-baking contest, Parson’s Ponies, face painting, raffles, signups for ministries and registrations for religious education, youth group and sacramental preparation. The parish also announces these upcoming programs:
A religious education class begins Sept. 21 from 9 to 9:50 a.m. in the Loyola Building. The first youth group will meet that evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
First Reconciliation and Eucharist for grades 2 and above will take place Sept. 23 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Reidy Hall.
RCIA orientation for those interested in becoming Catholic will be Sept. 24 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Reidy Hall.
Confirmation orientation for teens age 16 and older will take place Sept. 28.
Discovery Alliance announces Bible Study
Bible Study Fellowship is beginning a study of the life of Moses. A class for men and school-aged children starts at 6:55 p.m. Monday at Discovery Alliance Church, 2630 Connery Way. A class for women and children (infant to kindergarten) begins at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church, 235 S. Fifth St. W.

‘Ingathering’ to mark season’s programs
Sunday marks the beginning of the fall and winter programs for the Unitarian/Universalist Fellowship, 102 McLeod. The occasion will be celebrated by an “Ingathering Ceremony” at 10 a.m. in which each person shares a summer experience using water from the actual place. If they do not have that water, there will be water available to be used in its place.
Compline prayer Sunday at Holy Spirit

Compline, the ancient service of plainchant and contemplative prayer, will be offered at Holy Spirit Parish, 130 S. Sixth St. E., on the first Sunday of each month, beginning Sept. 7. The service will take place at 9 p.m. and will last about a half hour. This will be a time of quiet, of meditation and prayer; the church will be candlelit, and in September, music will be provided by the men of the Holy Spirit Parish Choir.
Fall classes kick off at Holy Spirit parish
Holy Spirit Episcopal Church invites you to join them as church school classes kick off for another year. This year’s theme is “Jesus is the Light of the World.”
A nursery is provided for infants and toddlers and classes are provided for children from preschool through 9th grade. Registration is Sunday starting at 9:45 a.m. Children’s worship and classes happen during the 10:15 a.m. adult worship service. World Day of Prayer is Thursday at Unity
An Interfaith Service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Unity of Missoula, 546 South Ave. W. The theme for the Unity World Day of Prayer is “We Are the Light of the World: Let Your Light Shine!”
St. Anthony to host healing Mass today
At noon Saturday, Sept. 6, at St. Anthony’s Church, 217 Tremont St., there will be a Mass offered for all those seeking healing – be it physical, spiritual, emotional, relational or any area of concern.
Special emphasis will be placed on intergenerational healing within the family tree. The Mass will be preceded by a rosary at 11:30 a.m.
