Free foot screenings - The screenings look for loss of protective sensation and skin condition and are intended for diabetics or anyone with a foot sore of several weeks duration or people concerned about the condition of the skin on their feet. Cholesterol screening - Community Medical Center offers cholesterol blood screening on the first Tuesday of every month from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the Physician Center 3 Laboratory Drawing Station. Diabetes support - The following support groups and programs are available:

  • Missoula Diabetes Support Group meets the third Tuesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. in the Wellness Center Conference Room at the St. Patrick Hospital Broadway Building (lobby level). No charge and no registration needed. Call 329-5781.
  • Free diabetes screenings at St. Patrick Hospital and Health Sciences Center. Overnight fast required. Call Diabetes Care Services at 329-5781 to schedule an appointment.
  • Missoula Indian Center provides on-site blood sugar testing with a glucose monitor and quarterly immunizations, fasting blood sugar tests, lipid profiles and thyroid panels. Referrals to the diabetes self-management program also available. Call Kitty at 329-3373.
  • Self-management education classes help people with diabetes and their loved ones learn how to manage the disease on their own. Each weekday course consists of five classes, which are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 4 p.m. A weekend course is held every three months with the next session scheduled for April 26-27.   • "Road to Recovery" provides free transportation for cancer patients to their treatments and home again.
  • "Reach to Recovery" offers visits by trained breast cancer survivor volunteers with newly diagnosed breast cancer patients.
  • "Look Good Feel Better" teaches female cancer patients beauty techniques to enhance their appearance and self-image during chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Trained cosmetologists lead the free group sessions.

Breast cancer survivor water fitness - Community Medical Center offers a warm-water pool class for breast cancer survivors to reduce lymphedema, improve general flexibility and strength, and increase endurance and circulation.
