The Corvallis Middle School Science Olympiad team brought home first place from the Montana State Science Olympiad Championship in Bozeman. The team competed against 44 other Montana schools and will represent the state at the National Science Olympiad competition in Florida.

Two Ronan High School students have been chosen to participate in the National Association for Music Education All-Northwest performing groups. Ryan Dresen (French horn) and Jenaya Burns (clarinet) will perform in the Wind Symphony when the groups meet in Spokane in February.

Hell Gate Elks 383 announces the following students of the month:

• October: Cy Steele and Byron Rollins, Sentinel; Chris Delaney and Renae Breidenbach, Frenchtown; Sean Lindley and Jordan McCloney, Big Sky; Holly Hale and Torrey Hoff, Florence; Kara Schmidt and Nicholas Hinricher, Hellgate; and Ian Descamps and Olivia Round, Loyola.

• November: Zach Burckhard and Sydney Pasternak, Sentinel; Kendra Hergett and Tyler Crisp, Florence; Gus Butler and Hayley Cyr, Frenchtown; Kathryn Clay and Audrey Stanton, Hellgate; Mikayla Schneider and Noah Eikens, Loyola; and Molly Langland and Brandon Klise, Big Sky.


Glenda Lee Eklund (Hawkins) received a doctorate in clinical psychology from the Arizona School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University in Phoenix. She is a graduate of Big Sky High School and the University of Montana.
