Climate Ride, a Montana-based philanthropic organization, announces two hiking trips and a cycling event in Glacier National Park this year.
Five-day hikes offered July 13-17 and Aug. 3-7 will explore the iconic trails of the Crown of the Continent, covering 40-plus miles across the park. The group will traverse high alpine mountain passes, passing glacial lakes and waterfalls. The hike will culminate with a raft trip down the Middle Fork of the Flathead River. Hikers will carry a daypack with snacks, water and personal items. The camp staff handles all luggage, food and overnight gear.
A six-day bike ride July 5-10 will span two national parks and two countries – Glacier on the U.S. side and Waterton National Park on the Canadian side – exploring some of the wildest country in the Lower 48. Speakers will include two park superintendents and park rangers. Glacier Ride will benefit the Glacier National Park Conservancy, which provides support for preservation, education and research.
