Cross Country

Cross Country, a live country drag revue, benefits the Blue Mountain Clinic.

Cross Country

(Saturday, Nov. 10)

Some 25 local musicians will dress in drag, put some of country's gender stereotypes in a blender, and belt covers from pop to outlaw for a cause on Saturday. "Cross Country," the third-annual fundraiser for Blue Mountain Clinic, sold out the Top Hat last year and has now bumped up to the Wilma. Attendees are invited to dress in drag and dance. (See the full preview here.)

The whole thing goes down at The Wilma. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 the day of show at the Top Hat box office, logjampresents.com or 877-987-6487.

Lucero and Jonny Fritz

(Tuesday, Nov. 13)

For more on twang-accented Memphis rockers Lucero, see this week's feature interview. If that's not reason enough to go, check out their opener, Jonny Fritz, a part-time Missoulian and witty songwriter who was featured on Rolling Stone Country. His last solo album, "Sweet Creep," throws a slightly more modern sheen of production onto Fritz's sound, which has the casual storytelling of a friend. That new sound came courtesy of Jim James, the frontman for My Morning Jacket, who recorded the album with Fritz in Los Angeles.

Lucero and Fritz will play the Wilma, with doors at 7 p.m. and the the show at 8. Tickets are $25 in advance. All ages.

Caamp and Doc Robinson

(Saturday, Nov. 10)

These two Ohioan bands bring two flavors of indie folk: Doc Robinson's "Ring of Love" is a warm, full-band effort with pop and soul woven into its folksy wool sweater. Caamp, meanwhile, are more sparse, spooky and emotive in their vocals and storytelling. If can score tickets on Facebook, check them out at the Top Hat. If not, buy in advance next time. Their show is sold out.

Their show at the Top Hat is sold out. Doors at 8:30 p.m. and music at 9 p.m. All ages.
