Missoula's two American Legion baseball teams play host to six teams in this weekend's Memorial Day Tournament, which begins Saturday at Lindborg-Cregg Field.
Helena, Bozeman and Kalispell will all send their Class AA and A teams to face Missoula's two clubs. The tournament is a round-robin affair with the top two Class A teams meeting in a championship Monday at 5:15 p.m. and the top two Class AA teams squaring off at 8 p.m.
The Class AA Mavericks bring a 19-5 record into the tournament and are coming off a 9-2 win over the Class A Bitterroot Red Sox Wednesday night. Arizona signee Will Thompson hit a two-run homer in the win.
Missoula has won 11 of its past 13 games.
The Class A Mavs have won seven straight and are 11-7 for the season after sweeping the Helena Reps last Sunday. Blake Honey drove in six runs in the doubleheader.
