Ward 4 incumbent Jerry Ballas already faces a challenger in the first day of filing for Missoula City Council seats.
Ballas and fellow Ward 6 incumbent Ed Childers were among the first to fill out paperwork to run in this yearÃs election. Challenger Alan Ault also signed up early, and will face Ballas in Ward 4.
The deadline for filing is June 26. A primary election, if needed, will be Sept. 9. The general election is Nov. 4.
