Tickets for a sneak preview of "The Matrix: Reloaded," the sequel to Keanu Reeves' 1999 hit film "The Matrix" sold out in about five minutes Wednesday morning, clerks at the Carmike 10 Cinema said this afternoon.
Fans were lining up at 2:30 a.m. to buy tickets for the single 10 p.m. Wednesday show, which went on sale at 11:30 a.m. They were all gone by 11:35 a.m.
However, Hamilton Pharaohplex theater manager Dave Sylvester said he would not start selling tickets to his 10 p.m. Wednesday show until 9:15 p.m. Sylvester said advance ticket sales there have been frustrating because it tends to create a rush for seats when the theater doors open.
For those who don't make the sneak peek shows, "The Matrix Reloaded" goes into heavy rotation Thursday starting at 12:30 p.m. in Missoula. It is showing on three screens at the Carmike 10, meaning fans will have 13 chances to see the two-hour, 30-minute movie on its official opening day. Tickets go on sale at 11:30 a.m.
