The body of 70-year-old David Hall was located late Friday afternoon in the Clark Fork River near Turah, roughly two miles from where the boat he was in overturned last Saturday.
The Missoula Sheriff’s Office said search and rescue members recovered the body at approximately 4:45 p.m.
Hall’s boat capsized Saturday afternoon four miles above Turah. A passenger survived and told authorities Hall was swept under the boat and didn’t resurface. Teams searched that day until lightning forced them to stop, then resumed the search Sunday.

Operations were discontinued that afternoon after the river rose 800 cubic feet per second.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Brenda Bassett did not say when the search resumed.
“At this time, we would like to thank the crew who have been looking and assessing over the past week,” Bassett said in a news release Friday night. “We also want to send our deepest condolences to Mr. Hall’s family and friends. While we know there is some closure, it does not take away the pain. Please keep them in your thoughts and your prayers.”
