Deck out Giving Tree this holiday

Every year, the Family Resource Center at Lewis and Clark Elementary School hosts a Giving Tree program that provides help to families in need during the holiday season, and this year the tree is overflowing with wishes.

Family No. 6: A 6-year-old boy needs waterproof gloves, long-sleeve shirts size 6-8, socks, underwear, twin bed (box spring and mattress), hat, jacket size 7, long-sleeve pajamas size 8, and Vans shoes size 12 1/2. A 33-year-old woman needs winter boots, thin wool socks, hat, jacket size medium, backpack, shirts size women's medium, sweaters size women's medium, school supplies (pens and three-ring binders).

Family No. 4: A 9-year-old boy needs shirts size 10-12, pants size 12R and underwear. A 15-year-old boy needs pants 38-by-32, shoes size 14, shirts size XXL, boxers size XL, black socks. A 33-year-old man needs crew socks size

10 and batteries for hearing aids. He also would like tools. A 36-year-old woman wishes for kitchen supplies such as cookware, casserole dishes, silverware, etc.

Family No. 2: A 7-year-old boy needs a jacket size medium and snow pants size 8-10. A 2 1/2-year-old needs shoes 8, pants, shirts and a jacket size 4T. A 4-month-old girl needs pants size 3-6 months, shirts size 6-9 months and a jacket size 6-9 months. A 31-year-old woman needs a toaster. A 33-year-old man needs pants size 3X.

Family No. 1: An 11-year-old girl needs furniture for her room, socks, hair clips, jeans size 16, a lamp, bras size 36A, boxer briefs women's size 5. An 8 1/2-year-old boy needs white T-shirts size men's medium, a belt, socks, bedroom furniture, an alarm clock, tank top, undershirts size men's medium and pajamas size men's large. A 7-year-old boy needs socks, shoes, white T-shirts size 12, a belt, jeans, tank top undershirts, pajamas and bedroom furniture. A 5-year-old girl needs stretchy jeans size 10, socks, a belt, bedroom furniture, hair accessories, Luster's pink lotion for her hair and pajamas (shirt size 12, pants 10). A 4 1/2-year-old boy needs socks, jeans size 5T, a wooden bunk bed with mattresses, a toy box, pajamas size 5T and a belt. A 29-year-old man needs white cotton T-shirts and black one-pocket T-shirts size 3X tall, white socks, a hair clipper and a facial hair trimmer. A 33-year-old woman needs socks, a sewing machine, frying pans, Tupperware, pillows, plates, glasses and an air purifier.

The Russell Elementary School Family Resource Center provides literacy programs for students and families and helps support families as they try to provide immediate needs for their children.

A mother of four (two under age 2) is looking for a double stroller.

A family of eight needs assistance replacing their 1999 Chevy Suburban's fuel pump.

A small family new to the area is looking for household linens, pans and utensils until they can afford to move their belongings across the country.
