Montana State forward Terrell Brown attempts a shot over Montana center Eric Hutchison.

A former University of Montana basketball player pleaded not guilty Thursday morning in Missoula County District Court to a felony drug charge for allegedly selling Adderall pills.

Eric Taylor Hutchison, 24, reportedly sold about 1,000 tablets at $5 per pill. Missoula law enforcement set up two controlled buys with Hutchison after a confidential source informed them he was selling his pills.

Prosecutors claim Hutchison sold pills twice to undercover agents and received cash for the pills.

Hutchison appeared Thursday morning before Standing Master Brenda Desmond and his next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 4.

He faces one felony charge of criminal distribution of dangerous drugs.

A 6-foot-9 center, Hutchison started for UM in all but 10 games since 2012. Last season he averaged 3.8 points and two rebounds per game.

He also started in 27 of 29 games during the 2012-13 season and was seventh on the team in rebounding. During the 2010-11 season, Hutchison played in 17 games and redshirted during the 2009-10 season his freshman year.
