Four Montanans will be honored with Montana Conservation Roundtable awards on Oct. 16.

Daphne Herling is receiving the Don Aldrich Fish and Wildlife Award for her outstanding effectiveness in advocating for western Montana’s wildlands.

Jamie Jonkel will be given the Arnold Bolle Award for his work as an indefatigable conflict resolver, friend and defender of black bears, and for teaching people how to live with them.

Lance Schelvan is the recipient of a Lifetime Award. Schelvan is the founding editor of Bugle magazine and the first employee of the then-fledgling Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

Diana Maneta will be honored with the Emerging Conservationist Award for her effective advisory role in Missoula city’s and county’s development and adoption of climate action plans.
