A Missoula motorcyclist was killed Saturday near Plains when he slammed into a bighorn sheep and was thrown into oncoming traffic.
The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. at mile marker 65 on Highway 200.
According the Montana Highway Patrol, the 39-year-old motorcyclist was driving east when a bighorn sheep jumped the guard rail and struck the man’s Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Upon impact, the motorcyclist was thrown into oncoming traffic and was hit by a 2000 Ford Expedition, driven by a woman from St. George, Utah.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene; the driver of the Ford SUV was unharmed.
