Missoula police detectives are investigating a possible death threat made to the Mountain Line bus service over the weekend.
A caller left the threat on the bus service's main office voicemail system on Sunday morning, according to Missoula Police spokesman Travis Welsh. The threat did not specify a driver or date as a target.
“Given the nature of the language used, it’s something we’re taking seriously,” Welsh said Thursday. “We’re trying to find out who did it.”
Mountain Line has not received any similar threats in the recent past, according to bus service community outreach coordinator Bill Pfeiffer. But Sunday's caller left two messages repeating the same threats toward bus employees.
"We always let the police know when something like that happens," Pfeiffer said. "This is the first time in quite awhile, but we take all threats seriously."
