Missoula police are investigating three separate reports of rape that occurred over the weekend.

An 18-year-old University of Montana student reported she was raped by a 22-year-old student in his dorm room early Sunday morning.

Missoula Police Detective Sgt. Travis Welsh said the woman was with a group fellow students and they were drinking when she started speaking to the man. At some point, they left the group and went into his dorm room, where she reported the rape occurred, Welsh said.

He said the investigation is ongoing and the suspect is cooperating with police.

He expects to conclude the investigation by the end of the week, after all the people who were at the social gathering are interviewed.

Another rape was reported last Friday afternoon by a 28-year-old female who told police that a man she met through a social networking website forced her to have sex with him.

Welsh said the woman invited the man to watch a movie at her home Thursday evening after meeting him on meetme.com.

Police have not identified the man, but know his first name and last initial. Welsh said the investigation is ongoing.

A third rape was reported Friday afternoon by the mother of a developmentally delayed 16-year-old Missoula girl.

Welsh said the mother reported two different adult men had sex with her daughter.

That investigation is also ongoing.
