When you really, really love your dog, it’s hard to leave him behind when you go out. But for those who are more comfortable enjoying a meal with their best friend by their side, the choices start to dwindle. Luckily, a few of Missoula’s tastiest restaurants allow you to bring your pups, provided they behave themselves.

At Tamarack Brewing Company, 231 W. Front St., dogs are allowed to lounge on the downstairs patio only. Some servers will even bring Fido some water in a dog dish. Along with some award-winning craft beer, you can enjoy some tasty pub food like fish and chips, pasta, burgers and pizza. Afterward, you can walk your dog at Caras Park, which Tamarack overlooks.

The Notorious P.I.G., 247 W. Front St., will also let you have your pups on the patio, which is nice and shaded. They’ve been voted Missoula’s best BBQ spot numerous times, and your dog will surely appreciate their selection of smoked meats.

The Iron Horse Brew Pub at 501 N. Higgins Ave. has been serving cold beer and delicious food (salads, sandwiches, burgers and specialty appetizers like Tequila Glazed Shrimp) for more than 25 years. Their front patio tables are dog-friendly, and the staff is welcoming to pups. The Iron Horse also has a great kids’ menu, so it’s an ideal spot to bring the entire family.

Located at 225 Kensington Ave., the Jim Johnson Deli uses the family dog as its Facebook profile photo. They’re always welcoming to pups, and sometimes they’ll even whip up some tasty treats for doggies. You can expect top-quality meats and top-notch customer service here.
