SAND COULEE - Philip Randall "Bud" Parker passed away in Great Falls on Nov. 18, 2005, following a successful heart surgery. It was complicated by a staph infection that eventually claimed his life.

Bud was born in Great Falls to Clyde and Dora Johnson Parker on Aug. 2, 1923. The family moved to Hamilton in 1928.

After graduation from Hamilton High School in 1942, he worked at the family service station until moving to Great Falls to enter the construction industry. He worked as a heavy machinery operator on projects all over the state.

Bud was free-spirited and loved to race horses, stock cars and motorcycles. He was an expert marksman with a shotgun, rifle or bow and arrow.

In 1960, he married Elane Battleson and settled in Sand Coulee. They enjoyed gardening and home life. He retired after 35 years and he and Elane traveled the nooks and crannies all over the state, taking pictures and watching the wildlife.

Bud is survived by his sister, Shyrle Kramis and husband Cap of Boise, Idaho; brother Tavy Parker and wife Violet of Missoula; stepdaughters Ellen Grieger and Sharon Ramsey, both of Great Falls; and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elane, stepdaughter Karen Woolsey and younger brother Alan Parker.

Cremation has taken place. No funeral services were held at his request. A memorial service will be celebrated in Great Falls at a later date.
