STEVENSVILLE - Patricia Colleen West Wisdom, 61, of Stevensville passed away into the loving and waiting arms of our Heavenly Father on Thursday, June 12, 2008, with her faithful, proud and heartbroken husband Bob at her side.
Patti was born Feb. 14, 1947, to Vernon and Arlene (Lafferty) West in Colville, Wash. She graduated from high school in 1966. Patti later graduated from the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in nursing. She married Bob Wisdom in 1967; they traveled as a team to many domestic and foreign outposts for Bob's military career during the next 26 years.
On Feb. 20, 1984, their 10-year-old son, Richard James Wisdom, was killed in a tragic accident while helping to save a friend's life. Richard's death broke Patti's and Bob's hearts and left a void they thought would never be filled. Against all medical odds, Michael David West Wisdom was born and helped to fill that void. Patti loved her boys: Bob, Richard and Michael.
Patti's passions in life were quilting, antiques, her animals and QVC. Patti was and is a true "Irish Corker," full of life and prone to explosive emotion. Many were the recipient of an Irish tongue if the wrong button was pushed. Thankfully, 100 times more likely Patti would "hug," financially assist, give away, volunteer or in some other way help or assist another human being's life to be a little easier. This was the Patti we all remember with deep sadness and emptiness in our own personal hearts, but with joy to know Patti is whole again, happy, healthy and at peace with her son Richard, father and mother. Patti fought the brave battle of life and never looked back.
She leaves behind a loving husband, Robert Wisdom; a cherished son, Michael David West Wisdom; and a brother, Michael West.
At Patti's request, no memorial services will be held. Memorials may be made in Patti's name to the dialysis unit of Missoula.
Whitesitt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
