MISSOULA - June Lorine Volker, 90, of Missoula, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2008, to meet Charles and Tippy at the gates of Heaven.
June was welcomed into Lloyd and Edna Bearns' family May 16, 1918, in Spokane. She was raised in Spokane and later graduated from John Rogers High School.
She worked at Baxter Hospital as a nurse specialist, where she met Charles Volker. June and Charlie were married July 3, 1945.
In 1960, the couple moved to Missoula. In 1968, June started working as a florist at the Bitterroot Flower Shop until she retired. June and Charlie then moved up to Seeley Lake to their "cabin." June loved watching all of the wildlife and growing all her flowers. May she find that peace in the heavens above.
June was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Edna Bearns; her husband, Charles; and a son, Thomas.
June is survived by her daughter, Karen (Bill) Fisher of Turah; her son, Jim (Ginger) Volker of Stevensville; grandchildren, Jessica (Zach) Fanelli of Ennis and Derek and Allison Cochrell of Missoula; great-grandchildren, Sal and Gia of Ennis; sister, Beth (Gary) March of Spokane; and many other family members.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at Garden City Funeral Home with Father Joe Moran officiating.
The family suggests memorials be made in June's name to Camp Mak-A-Dream, P.O. Box 1450, Missoula, MT 59806.
