MOSCOW, Idaho — Betty Jean Britt, 91, passed away the morning of Thursday, May 17, 2018, at her home in Moscow, Idaho. She was an extremely kind, loving and understanding person.
Betty was born to Zella and Carl Trickey on Feb. 21, 1927 in Great Falls. She met her future husband Alex Britt Jr., while growing up in Missoula. Betty and Alex were married Nov. 18, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas. After World War II, they raised a family of four boys in Missoula: Earl, Rick, Larry and Roger Britt.
Betty was a lifelong active Democrat, member of the Parent Teacher Association, president at Whittier School in Missoula and she enjoyed being a Cub Scout den mother. Family was everything to her.
She is survived by her four sons and their wives, Earl and Dawn Britt, Rick and Janette Britt, Larry and Kelly Britt and Roger Britt and Kyndra. She loved her niece Carly Barta, and her nephews, Lloyd Peiffer and Gary Peiffer, very much; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Zella and Carl Trickey; her husband, Alex Britt Jr.; her sisters, Loretta (Toots) Peiffer Olson and Clara Reddick; niece Sharon Reddick; and her lifelong pal, Nancy Britt Holland.
She insisted on no memorial. We will all miss you very much.
