MISSOULA – Gerald Dean Ochsner, 67, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at St. Patrick Hospital from cancer.
He was born in Iowa and spent his childhood in Tutle, N.D.
Jerry was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked at Van Evans Lumber Mill for many years. He went to work at the U of M after the mill closed. At the U of M he was the maintenance crew chief for 30 years.
His favorite past times were fishing and puttering around the house and yard.
He was a wonderful and loving husband for 32 years to Diane Beierle Ochsner; a great stepdad to his son Jeff Pamin and a wonderful papa to his granddaughter Kaytlin, who was his pride and joy.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Beierle Ochsner; stepson Jeff Pamin (Becky); and granddaughter Kaytlin; brother Neal Ochsner; and sister Cindi Good and her family; and many cousins last names of Weisenburger.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
He was preceded in death by his father Richard Ochsner, and his mother Martha Fetzer Ochsner.
Sunset Memorial Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
