STEVENSVILLE – Grace Bentham 82, a longtime Lolo resident, passed away of natural causes Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, at the Living Centre in Stevensville.
Grace was born in Missoula on Sept. 23, 1932, to Burt and Mildred Slocum.
She met and married the love of her life Woody Bentham on Dec. 12, 1947. They lived most of their lives in Lolo. She missed their 67th wedding anniversary by five days. Grace and Woody delivered the mail in and around Lolo, up U.S. Highway 12 to Lolo Hot Springs, then later to Powell Ranger Station in Idaho. They had 50 years of service between the two of them.
Grace is survived by her husband, Woody Sr. at the Living Centre in Stevensville; two children, Woody Bentham Jr. and his wife Cindy of Florence and Cindy Kirby and her husband Dave, also of Florence; and three grandchildren, Mike Kirby (Deidra) of Lolo, Katie Kirby of Dana Point, California, and Kara O’Neil (Charlie) of Sarasota, Florida. She also has six great-grandchildren.
