HAMILTON – Harvey R. Sharp, 74, of Hamilton, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, from kidney failure at his home.
Harvey was born and raised in Cut Bank. He married Margaret in Hawthorne, Nevada. After living a short time in Essex, he joined the Navy where he spent 21 years repairing jets and helicopters. Six of those years were spent off the coast of Vietnam. Upon retiring, the family moved to Hamilton, where he worked in many jobs, including janitor, snow shoveling, carpentry, cannery worker, elk herder, and parking lot cleaning and painting lines.
He spent his life loving rocks and collecting them, and delighted telling everyone about them.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Ella, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his wife, Margaret of Hamilton; sons, Eric of China and Jonathan Kimo of Portland, Oregon; brother, Warren of Palmer, Alaska; grandchildren, April, Amber, Ethan, Ryan and Alexa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private scattering of ashes will be done at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of the Daly-Leach Chapel. Condolences may be left for the family at dalyleachchapel.com.
