MISSOULA - James R. Steinberg, 76, of Missoula, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at St. Patrick Hospital.
He was born Jan. 9, 1934, in Sibley, Iowa, the son of Lena and Andrew Steinberg. He grew up in Lake Benton, Minn. and moved to Montana in 1953.
James did ranch work, worked at Bud Lake Truck Stop and Imperial Meats (4B's), retiring from 4B's Wholesale.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert and Andrew; and a grandson, Adam.
His family includes his wife of 57 years, Lee; a daughter Deborah; two sons, Michael and his wife Jill and Richard and his wife Lois; siblings, Kay Hughes and her husband Roy, Carrel Hughes and her husband Dick and Darrel Steinberg and his wife Carol; sister-in-law, Sadie Steinberg; grandchildren, Scott, Jess and her husband Eric, Megan, Sara and Emily; great-grandchildren, Isabella and Gracie; numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 21, at Messiah Lutheran Church at 3718 Rattlesnake Drive.
Memorials are suggested to the church, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements are under the care of Garden City Funeral Home.
