CLINTON – Jerry A. Olson, 65, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010, of lung cancer at his home on Rock Creek. If you smoke, please quit. If you don’t smoke, please don’t start. Cigarettes killed this man.
Jerry was born April 12, 1945, in Williston, N.D., because there was no hospital in the hometown of Culbertson.
Jerry was valedictorian of his graduating class at Darby High School and was very proud of graduating from the University of Montana in 11 quarters and passing his Certified Public Accountant test on the first try.
He served 14 years in the Internal Revenue Service before opening his own CPA practice on Rock Creek.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Adeline Olson. He is survived by his wife, Darlene; daughters Debora (Jack) Gabelhausen of Hamilton and Stacy (Curtis) Brickley of Albuquerque, N.M.; son Matthew (Chizuko) Olson of Hong Kong and New Zealand. He is also survived by sister Janice Tatum of Phoenix, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and extended family Karen and Jason Ayers of Seeley Lake.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 3 at SHEC, 1919 North Ave. West.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to SHEC, Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, or charity of donor’s choice.
