RICHLAND, Wash. – Joanie Lucille Ross died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, after a long illness at her home in Richland, Washington.
Joanie was born in Dillon on Dec. 12, 1942, to Harry Calvin and Clara Mae McBride. After losing her mother at a young age, she was raised in Dillon by her two grandmothers, Clara Mary Griffith and Lenore Mikus. In 1959, she married Eugene Ralph Ross in Dillon where they made their home and raised their children. They were later divorced.
Joanie enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joanie is survived by her son, Ralph Ross of Butte and his daughter Adrianne Mancoronal-Ross; her daughter, Christine Davis and her husband Jim of Ronan and their children Michelle Davis, Meagan Dunkerson, Carl Dunkerson III, Brandon Dunkerson and Kendal Dunkerson; her daughter, Sandra Christianson and her husband Kyle of Richland and their children Vanessa Perez and Kienan Christianson; her son, Michael Ross and his wife Lynette of Beulah, North Dakota, and their children Terence, Shawn, Kerry (K.C.); her daughter, Charlene Maciorowski of Rocker and her husband Rob; her stepson, Terry Ross and his wife Kathy of Whitehall; and 17 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Muriel Leyfert, of Shrewsbury, Missouri; and her brother, Robert J. Lopp of Kalispell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Clara McBride; and her former husband, Eugene Ross.
A memorial service is being planned for the spring of 2015 in Montana.
