LINCOLN – Lester Eugene Baldry, 72, passed away Nov. 22, 2014, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Lester was born Oct. 10, 1942, to Harold Lester Baldry and Mae Margaret Lapke in Scobey. He was one of four children.
Lester grew up in Scobey and later moved to Florence, where he graduated in 1960. This is where he met his wife of 53 years, Amy Mae Corcoran. They were married in Stevensville on June 10, 1961, and then lived in Lolo and Victor. They had five children before moving to Lincoln in 1974.
Lester worked in the logging industry, then in the mining industry, then for Western Fuel delivering propane and then for Blattner Construction driving fuel trucks. He retired from Blattner in 2011.
Lester was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Lester Baldry and Mae Margaret Lapke, and his grandson, Houston Baldry.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Baldry; brother, Floyde Baldry; sisters, Dorothy Zimmer and Alice Baldry; children, Robbie Lester Baldry, Ranae Lynn Brown (Al Brown), Cheryl Mae Martinson, Christine Marie Lay and Leslie Ann Baldry; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lester was a wonderful man who will be dearly missed. There will be no funeral at this time. A celebration of life is planned for summer 2015.
