MISSOULA - Margaret S. "Bunny" Jones, 94, a longtime resident of Plains, passed away at The Springs in Missoula on Wednesday, May 5, 2010.
She was born on March 31, 1916, in Bridgewater, Mass., to Joseph and Lettie (Austin) Silvia.
She moved to Windsor, Vt., in 1923, with her mother and her two sisters. She attended school in Windsor, and was a 1933 graduate. She excelled in basketball and her team won the state championship in 1933. She also went on to graduate from Northampton Commercial College in 1937.
In 1938, she married Norman S. Jones.
After retiring in 1974, she and her husband, Norman moved to Plains, to be near their family.
Her main interest in life was her family. She would always be ready to watch any sport or activity that her grandkids participated in. Her interests included family, shopping, knitting and reading. She will be deeply missed by all of us.
Margaret is survived by her only son, Brian Jones; her sister, Madeline Walsh; her grandchildren, Robin Rude and Chad Jones; and her great-grandchildren, Dylan and Aspen Rude; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Jones; and her sister, Catherine Farrell.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, May 14, at the Plains Lutheran Church.
