MISSOULA - Mary Lela Cik, 87, of Missoula, passed away Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, at Community Medical Center of natural causes.
She was born June 6, 1922, in Loogootee, Ind., to James Doyle and Mary Gueguen.
She married George Cik, after World War II, in 1946. They celebrated 60 years of marriage on Feb. 9, 2006.
Mom was head of Dominic's Food Store payroll department. She oversaw the weekly distribution of over 20,000 payroll checks, along with the executive payroll.
She was an avid card player, most notably bridge. On the lakes walleye fishing, she would out-fish everyone.
She was preceded in death by both her parents, James and Mary Doyle; and her brother James Doyle.
Survivors include three sons, Jim (Linda) Cik of Missoula, Dave (Jeri) of Kalispell, and Steve (Cindy) Cik of Corpus Christi, Texas; sisters Katherine, Betty and Fran; and her brother George of the Chicago area; grandchildren; Michael, Daniel, Brian, Joe, Travis and Josh; great-grandchildren, Anja, Ethan and Ben.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at Blessed Trinity, with Father Ed Hislop officiating. Viewing will take place from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Old St. Mary's Cemetery.
