MISSOULA – Michael Charles Fellows, 58, of Missoula, passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.
Mike was born in Lewiston, Idaho, on Dec. 8, 1957. He graduated from Havre High School in 1976 and later earned degrees in radio & television and political science from University of Montana.
Mike worked a number of years at the Hillside Manor group home, but was largely engaged in politics at the city and state level, and later became Montana state chairman of the Libertarian Party. He ran for office consistently and championed causes in support of freedom and liberty and less government intrusion into people’s lives. He enjoyed campaigning at local and statewide fairs and parades and attended debates with other candidates. His other key passions were directed to veteran and elderly care organizations as well as Missoula Community Access Television.
Mike is survived by his three brothers, Steven, Jonathan and Robert.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Charles Fellows, and mother, Patricia Fellows.
The funeral service will be held at St. Anthony’s Parish, 217 Tremont St., at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15. Mike will be buried in Pomeroy, Washington. Cremation was handled by the Cremation and Burial Society of the Rockies.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to American Legion Hellgate Post No. 27, 825 Ronan St., Missoula, MT. The family of Michael Charles Fellows wishes to thank the Missoula community for their prayers and kindness.
