Robert David Speer

GLASGOW - Robert David Speer, 76, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003, at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula following a brief battle with cancer.

Robert is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Speer of Glasgow; sons Robert "Duke" Speer Jr. and Gregory Speer of Glasgow; daughter Debra Fleig of Missoula; and two grandchildren, Zebulon Speer of Glasgow and Kaylee Fleig of Missoula. He is also survived by his brothers Dale Speer of Alameda, Calif., Richard Speer of Tallahassee, Fla., and Lloyd Speer of Conrad; sister Jean Largent of Simms; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one nephew and one niece.

As per Robert's wishes, cremation has taken place and no funeral services will be held at this time. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Glasgow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Cremation and Burial Society of the Rockies in Missoula.

LeRoy Thomas 'Sonny' Burland

RONAN - LeRoy Thomas "Sonny" Burland, 61, of Ronan, died on Thursday, Aug. 7, in a car accident on Highway 93 near Polson.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Monday, Aug. 11, at 1 p.m. at Lakeview Cemetery in Polson with a reception to follow at the Flathead Senior Center in Polson.

Cremation and arrangements are by Grogan Funeral Home and Crematory of Polson.

Dolly Jean Langston

ELMO - Dolly Jean Langston, 75, of Elmo, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003, at her home from cancer.

Dolly was born on April 11, 1928, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, to Merle and Ruth Lowe. She moved to California as a teenager and attended high school in El Cerrito, Calif.

On April 12, 1946, she married F.A. Langston in Los Angeles. They lived in Southern California until 1963, when they moved to Montana. They lived in Arlee until 1978 and then they moved to Rocky Point near Polson. For the past seven years, they have lived in Elmo.

Dolly enjoyed sewing and quilting. She and F.A. loved to travel. They traveled to the Baha in Mexico for several winters and most recently went to Florida for a winter. She once caught a marlin while in the Baha.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband F.A. Langston of Elmo; children Larry Langston, Charles Langston and Paul Langston, all of Southern California, Pamela Burch and husband Stephen of Selah, Wash., Tami Nelson and husband Kenneth of Missoula and Kenneth Langston and wife Kathleen of northern California; sister Grace Post of Southern California; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 13, at 11 a.m. at Grogan Funeral Home in Polson with the Rev. Jim Perry officiating.

Cremation and arrangements are by Grogan Funeral Home and Crematory.

Helen A. Burget

RONAN - Helen A. Burget, 73, of Ronan, passed away at her home of natural causes on Friday, Aug. 8, 2003.

As she had requested, cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at a later date.

Shrider's Mortuary is assisting with cremation and arrangements.
