Marcheta 'Keta' Boyce
MISSOULA - Marcheta "Keta" Boyce, 76, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at Community Medical Center of natural causes.
She was born Sept. 9, 1927, in Belgrade to Floyd and Olive McGee.
In 1931 the McGee family moved to Missoula where Keta grew up, attending Willard Grade School and Missoula County High School. After graduating in 1944, she worked at the Community Creamery.
On March 6, 1946, she married her four-year sweetheart, Bob Boyce.
Later she worked at the University of Montana as a stenographer and typist and for Boyce Lumber Co. as a bookkeeper.
Keta's passion for playing her Hammond organ and love for the Lord led her to play for the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints for many years.
Keta enjoyed gardening, bowling, music, cooking and baking, but most of all she loved spending time with and caring for her family. Her one goal in life was making a loving home for her husband and children. Keta's home was always open to everyone who knew her.
Keta is survived by her loving husband Bob; her mother Olive McGee; and two sons, Jack Boyce of Florence and Steve Boyce of Missoula. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, two nieces and a nephew.
Keta was preceded in death by her father Floyd McGee and her sister Marlys Nesbitt.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, at Garden City Funeral Home. A reception will follow.
In place of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Missoula Ronald McDonald House or Hospice of Missoula.
