STEVENSVILLE - Patricia Joann "Pat" Coots passed away at home surrounded by her family after a long battle with ovarian cancer on Feb. 23, 2010.
Pat was born in Tulare, Calif., on Sept. 21, 1940.
She worked at the first JC Penney's store in Kemmerer, Wyo. She transferred to JC Penney's in Hamilton, and worked there until it closed.
She then worked at Ford's in Hamilton for many years. She left Ford's to do ad sales for the Stevensville Star until she had to retire due to her health.
She is survived by her husband John Coots; daughter Jackie (Shane) Schipporeit; two grandsons, Cody and Philip Schrantz; sister Glenda Reid; and two half sisters, Julia Gladwell and Cynthia Rodgers.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father Glenn and Martha Davis, brother Charles Davis and half-brother Jake Walker.
She enjoyed crafting especially plastic canvas, reading, flower gardening, her dogs, watching and collecting movies and anything and everything involving her grandchildren.
She was a member of the Stevensville Senior Citizens Center, where she enjoyed eating lunch every day when her health allowed. She was also a member of the Sula and Stevensville garden clubs.
No formal service will be held. A Memorial Gathering will be held at the Stevensville Senior Center to celebrate and remember Pat's life Saturday, March 6, from 2 to 4 p.m.
