VICTOR – Ramon William Adler, 78, of Victor, died at St. Patrick Hospital on Wednesday, March 17, 2010.
He was born on Jan. 23, 1932, at Groton, S.D., to Arthur and Lillian (Jost) Adler Sr.
He graduated from Groton High School in 1949. Ray enlisted on Jan. 23, 1951, in the U. S. Air Force and was honorably discharged on Dec. 9, 1954. He served with the 727th AC&W Squadron and spent part of his service time in Okinawa during the Korean War.
On Oct. 3, 1962, he married Donna Dunwoody. He operated a bowling alley and service station in South Dakota. He was also a carpenter with Sleten Construction and Dave Reynolds Construction and was also involved in cattle ranching.
He was a member of the Big Sky Saddle Club, Carpenters Local 28 Union, hunting, fishing, Pony Express – 1976, and was with the Victor Volunteer Fire Department for 15 years.
His father, mother, brother Arthur Adler Jr., and his wife Donna Adler (1997) preceded him in death.
Ramon is survived by his son Todd, in Victor; daughter Misty Oakes of Spokane; grandsons Brandon and Patrick Oakes, both in Spokane. Also surviving is a brother, Walter and Earleen Adler, in Drummond, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 26 at the Whitesitt Funeral Home in Stevensville with Pastor Nancy Slabaugh-Hart officiating. A potluck reception will follow at the Masonic Lodge.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to help defray medical expenses are asked to any of the Farmers State Banks.
